Band Members
Last Friday, May 4th, the Coleman Junior High Bands competed in the Howard Payne University band contest. The Advanced Band and Beginner Band earned a Superior rating in both Concert and Sightreading, bringing home plaques.
Several students also earned a Superior rating in the Solo competition:
6th graders: Katlin Parks-flute, Brijonae Morris-flute, Halie Phares-flute, Summer Flores-flute, Megan Moran-clarinet, Carissa Delagarza-clarinet, Jasmine Wright-saxophone, Lexie Braack-saxophone, Memorie Jenkins-saxophone, Marie Rosales-baritone, Lexi Olinger-horn, Brendon Camp-trumpet, Jaime Valdez-trombone, Seth Watson-tuba, and Colt Richards-tuba.
7th/8th graders: Elmo Pena-clarinet, Ashlee Whitten-flute, Zane Rosales-trumpet, Carlee West-flute, L.D. Brooks-contra clarinet, Jacob Mason-tuba, Neil Bhakta-saxophone, Zach Mason-snare drum, Mason Monroe-trombone, Nathaniel Rodriquez-trumpet, Alimiyu Gutierrez-saxophone, Caleb Thomas-trombone, Heaven Bedell-flute and Aleesha Malott-clarinet.

Junior High Band Competes at Howard Payne University
Pays to be Present
Winner of the “It Pays to be Present” drawing held this week at Coleman Junior High School is 7th grader Annalissa Sanchez.
 
A drawing for $25.00 is held each six weeks period. To be eligible for the drawing, a student must not miss a single day of school during this period. The $25.00 is provided by the student council at Coleman Junior High School. A grand prize drawing for $100.00 is held at the end of the school year. This amount is also provided by the student council.
 
Presenting the check to Annalissa is Student Council Historian, Megan Taylor.
